Student corner:<\/strong> BBA Admission Test (2012-13) of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012. The Admission Test will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the candidates must report to their respective test center by 9:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

ELIGIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n

All applicants must have completed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or their equivalents in any field of study. However, if an applicant has taken the O-Level examination, he\/she must have passed at least 5 (five) subjects (including mathematics). In case of A-Level examination, an applicant must have passed at least 3 (three) subjects. It is important to note that applicants with O-level and A-level must have minimum D grade in all subjects.
\nThe minimum qualifying point to be eligible for application is 5 (five).<\/p>\n

*Letter grades of O -Level and A \u2013Level subjects are converted into grade points on the basis of A = 4, B = 3, C = 2 and D = 1. Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated by averaging the grade points of the five best grades for O-level and the three best grades for A-Level.<\/p>\n

For all other certificates, equivalence will be determined by the Equivalence Committee of IBA.<\/p>\n

SELECTION PROCEDURE<\/strong>
\nAll Bangladeshi applicants must take the Admission Test. The test has two components: Written Assessment and Communication Test. The Written Assessment component evaluates applicant’s aptitude in: Language, Mathematics, and Analytical Ability. To qualify in the Written Test, an applicant must obtain a minimum qualifying score in each of the above areas. For the Communication Test, applicants will be selected on the basis of their performance in the Written Assessment. Foreign nationals with a score of 1700 or more in SAT Reasoning Test (with at least 550
\nin Critical Reading and Math and at least 500 in Writing) may be exempted from the Written Assessment, but must appear in the Communication Test.<\/p>\n

HOWTO APPLY<\/strong>
\nThe application is to be made online by Wednesday, November 21, 2012. Application fee is Tk 865\/- (including online processing fee & bank service charge). For detailed\u00a0application procedure, visit the IBA website at http:\/\/www.iba-du.edu or the IBA Admission website \u00a0http:\/\/iba.univdhaka.edu . Online Application Procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Detailed information regarding the BBA admission is available at IBA\u2019s website \u00a0(http:\/\/www.iba-du.edu) or IBA admission website (http:\/\/iba.univdhaka.edu) . The \u00a0qualifications required for applying to the BBA program are explained there. The \u00a0procedure for making an application is also described in the website and necessary \u00a0links have been provided.<\/p>\n

A. Guidelines to Fill-in Online Application Form<\/strong>
\n1. Use any web browser to go to IBA website (http:\/\/www.iba-du.edu) and click\u00a0on <BBA Admission 2012-13>, or go to DU admission website (http:\/\/admission.univdhaka.edu) and click on <IBA> or go to IBA admission\u00a0website (http:\/\/iba.univdhaka.edu) directly.<\/p>\n

2. Click on <Apply> on the Menu bar.<\/p>\n

3. A) Candidates with HSC\/Alim\/DIBS\/Dip-in-Com\/HSC(BM)\/HSC(voc) from \u00a0Bangladesh Education Board (Dhaka, Chittagong, Comilla, Rajshahi, Jessore, \u00a0etc) Board or Madrasah Board or Bangladesh Technical Education Board \u00a0(BTEB) (with SSC\/Dakhil\/O-Level) can apply following the steps stated \u00a0below:
\ni) Select <Education Boards Bangladesh> under the Student type tab. After \u00a0providing three required particulars (applicant\u2019s higher
\nsecondary\/equivalent examination roll number, passing year and board\u2019s \u00a0name) click on the <Submit> button.<\/p>\n

ii) The applicant\u2019s name, secondary\/equivalent and higher \u00a0secondary\/equivalent examination roll number, year of passing and name
\nof the board shall appear on a webpage. Then the applicant must fill in the rest of the information required in the application form and upload the \u00a0scanned color photo. If all the information is correct and the qualification\u00a0requirements are met, the applicant will be able to see a <Confirm>\u00a0button. After clicking on the <Confirm> button, the applicant will be able \u00a0to see the link for downloading the \u2018Payslip\u2019. The \u2018Payslip\u2019 (PDF version) \u00a0has to be downloaded and printed by the applicant for paying the \u00a0admission test fees. There will be a 12-digit \u2018Pin Number\u2019 on the \u2018Payslip\u2019 \u00a0that has to be used later while printing the \u2018Admit Card\u2019. If the information \u00a0is incorrect, the <Confirm> button will not appear. In that case, the \u00a0application procedure must be started again using the correct particulars.<\/p>\n

3. B) Candidates with A-level from GCE Edexcel or CIE (with SSC\/O-level)\u00a0can apply following the steps stated below:<\/p>\n

i) Applicants with A-Level need to collect the \u2018Application Code\u2019 through \u00a0SMS. To collect the \u2018Application Code\u2019, go to the message option in your \u00a0cell phone (Robi, and type DU IBACODE <your_passport_no.> and send \u00a0to 16321 number. The applicant\u2019s \u2018Passport Number\u2019 and \u2018Application \u00a0Code\u2019 will be sent via reply SMS. This \u2018Application Code\u2019 and \u2018Passport \u00a0Number\u2019 will be required during the application procedure. No space\/dash \u00a0can be used when inputting the Passport Number.<\/p>\n

ii) Select \u2018GCE\/CIE\u2019 under \u2018Student Type\u2019. Then type in the applicant\u2019s \u00a0\u2018Passport Number\u2019 and \u2018Application Code\u2019 and click on the <Submit>\u00a0button.<\/p>\n

iii) Then fill in the required particulars (e.g. applicant\u2019s name, father\u2019s name \u00a0etc.) and year of passing, name of the board, and the names and grades of \u00a0three A-Level and five (including mathematics) O-Level (or equivalent)\u00a0subjects. For A-Level and O-level, input the names and grades of the \u00a0subjects with the highest grades attained. Now, click on the <Check \u00a0Eligibility> button.<\/p>\n

iv) If eligible, fill in the rest of the information required in the application \u00a0form and upload the scanned color photo. If the required information are \u00a0properly filled, the applicant will see a <Confirm> button.<\/p>\n

v) Clicking on the <Confirm> button, the applicant will be able to see the \u00a0link for downloading the \u2018Payslip\u2019. The Payslip has to be downloaded and \u00a0printed by the applicant for paying the admission test fees. There will be a \u00a012-digit \u2018Pin Number\u2019 on the \u2018Payslip\u2019 that has to be used later while \u00a0printing the \u2018Admit Card\u2019.<\/p>\n

3. C) Candidates having certificates other than stated in 3 (B) and 3 (C) will \u00a0have to contact IBA to obtain equivalence of their transcripts by the \u00a0Equivalence Committee of IBA. After getting the \u2018Equivalence Certificate\u2019\u00a0and \u2018Equivalence ID\u2019 from IBA, they can apply following the steps described \u00a0above. In this regard, they will have to use the \u2018Equivalence ID\u2019 as Roll \u00a0Number, Board as ‘Others’ and year of passing.<\/p>\n

B. Application Fees and Admit Card<\/strong>
\n1. The Payslip must be downloaded and printed. There are two parts in the \u00a0\u2018Payslip\u2019: one part is for the student and the other for the bank. The \u00a0applicant must sign on the both parts of the Payslip.<\/p>\n

2. The applicant can go to any of the branches of the four national \u00a0commercial banks (Janata, Sonali, Agrani and Rupali) and pay the
\napplication fee of total BDT 865.00 (Eight Hundred Sixty Five only)\u00a0(Including online processing fee of BDT 75.00 and Bank Service Charge \u00a0of BDT 40.00) along with the Payslip. The application is to be submitted \u00a0online by November 21, 2012 (Wednesday). However, the last date for \u00a0payment of admission fees in bank is November 22, 2012(Thursday).<\/p>\n

3. The applicant will have to revisit the IBA Admission Website \u00a0(http:\/\/iba.univdhaka.edu) after a minimum of two working days from the\u00a0submission of the application fees, and click on the \u2018Admit Card\u2019 Menu. \u00a0Then, input the \u2018PIN Number\u2019 given on the Payslip and press the \u2018Tab\u2019\u00a0button on your keyboard. The \u2018Download Admit Card\u2019 link will appear \u00a0on the webpage. The Admit Card (PDF version) will have to be \u00a0downloaded by clicking on this option and a printout of the same must be \u00a0taken by the applicant.<\/p>\n

4. The Admit Card will contain the applicant\u2019s Roll number and Serial \u00a0number for the admission examination. The applicant must carry the Admit card and the necessary documents stated in the Admit card in order \u00a0to sit for the test.<\/p>\n

C. Photo-related Information:<\/strong>
\n1. Candidates must upload a recent passport size colored photo taken with a \u00a0digital\/mobile camera or scanned from a good quality printed image. The \u00a0background of the photo should be white\/off-white.<\/p>\n

2. If you scan the photo, the resolution of the scanned image should be 300 \u00a0DPI. The size should be 500-600 pixels in length and 400-500 pixels in width.\u00a0The image file should not be greater than 100 kilobytes in size.<\/p>\n
